Responsible Community
To educate its students and be part of a vibrant citizenry, the college will exemplify stewardship, accountability, and concern. The institution will model a responsible community, creating intentional and meaningful connections with its students, faculty, and staff, and serving as a strong citizen and steward through service and outreach.

Priority Initiatives
- Salary Benchmarking: Develop and implement a plan to create market salaries for staff and faculty:
- Faculty: 50/60/70 model for base to be implemented in FY25 planning, with addition of benchmarking with peer CIC, NCICU, and ACA institutions.
- Staff: Using NCICU and CUPA comparable data.
- Meta Themes: Infuse and inculcate "meta" themes/concepts into curriculum, co-curriculum, and institutional values:
- Wellness
- Respect and civility
- Environmental sustainability
- Institutional Effectiveness: Develop a recursive institutional effectiveness (IE) process that includes institution-wide input on budget, program review results, etc.
- Technology: Improve IDT, IT and data integrity processes and outcomes, including Learning Management System, Esports, student computing security, maintenance and replacement policies and practices. Consider developing an Artificial Intelligence(AI) task force to help the institution stay abreast of disruptive changes in higher education.
- Safety and Maintenance: Notice and increase awareness of issues of physical safety (e.g., lighting, active shooter training, walkways, icy roads, classrooms and maintenance on campus). Reporting and follow-through process.
- Professional Development: Invest in professional development to improve the college through its people.
Central to the success of the strategic plan is regular and recursive assessment, evaluation of the Priority Initiatives and their contributions to the Core Strategies, and the continued transparency of sharing this key information via the college's Factbook. To ensure accountability and optimization, each Priority Initiative will be measured against Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and analyzed for progress towards defined targets.
