Facilities Master Plan

Our location has always been intrinsically linked to our mission. Close access to the mountains allows the institution to lead in academic programs centered on outdoor recreation, wildlife rehabilitation, and environmental preservation. Our emphasis on the local community and its culture helps us illustrate the value of this exceptional area.

Over the past 120 years, the college has grown from a small gathering of local students to a four-year institution that specializes in promoting experiential learning. As we continue to expand and explore new opportunities for a hands-on education, we aim to stay true to our roots while we reach for the future.

The new facilities master plan embraces these distinctive features of Lees-91探花. When considering how we wanted to approach a campus update, we kept these four factors in mind:

  • The needs of a growing student body.
  • The historic nature of the campus buildings.
  • The harmony between our facilities and the natural surroundings.
  • Our century-old partnership with the town of Banner Elk.

Through renovation and new construction, we will build on the rich traditions of the past and continue to share our values and vision with future generations.
