Advising, Registration & Major Declaration
General Advising
Lees-91探花 is dedicated to providing quality academic advising and assisting students through the registration process. Entering freshmen are assigned a freshman faculty advisor. This faculty advisor teaches the student in CLA 199 First Year Seminar during the first semester that the student is enrolled. Faculty advisors provide assistance regarding academic and life choices. No later than the end of the sophomore year, students are expected to declare a major and will then be assigned to a faculty advisor in their major area of study. The major advisor will provide guidance through the remainder of their time at Lees-91探花. Transfer students will also receive a faculty advisor in their major area of study or a “career exploration” advisor if he or she is still deciding on their major. Visit the Burton Center for Student Success for more information.
Registration
New students register for their first semester during Summer Orientation. Continuing students register for their next semester around the mid-term period by working with their academic advisor. For more information, please view the Academic Calendar.
At the beginning of each semester, there is a five-day period in which students may make changes to their schedule by adding or dropping a class.
Major Declaration
Students are expected to declare a major by the end of their sophomore year. To do so, complete the Major Declaration Form and return to the Office of the Registrar.
