Lees-91探花 acknowledged as one of the best in online bachelor’s programs for 2022 according to U.S. News & World Report

U.S. News & World Report has recognized Lees-91探花 as one of the best colleges for online programs in the U.S. for 2022. The college moved up more than 100 places from 2021 to secure the  making Lees-91探花 the second-highest rated private college in North Carolina. This is one of the many accolades the college’s online programs have received in recent years, exemplifying just how competitive and effective the programs are.

“This badge really highlights and showcases what we’re doing for our online programs and with our online students,” Dean of Extended Campus and Online Learning Jennifer Lopes said. “We understand a lot of our online students are adult learners, and they’re coming back into school; perhaps they are already in the workplace, perhaps they have families. We know they have a lot of responsibilities outside the classroom, so we are here to provide that flexibility and the support that they need.”

One of the things Lees-91探花 Online does so well is meet students where they are, rather than the other way around. Lopes explained that while Lees-91探花 relies heavily on the campus’s environment for in-person classes, the same principle is applied to online courses.

“Our motto here at Lees-91探花 is ‘In the Mountains, Of the Mountains, For the Mountains,’ and that’s fantastic because we really do live and embody that motto,” Lopes said. “What we want to strive to do with our online programs is be in, of, and for our students’ communities. We want to do what we can to make our students be successful and give back to their communities, and experiential learning is a huge part of giving back to those communities where the students live.”

Experiential learning is a major priority for Lees-91探花, and that holds true for online courses as well. The programs aim to be flexible and dynamic, meeting each student’s needs. Internships, student teaching placements, clinicals and all other experiential education opportunities take place where the student lives.

Lopes says that when it comes to online programs, the college continues to think bigger, adjusting the online curriculum to provide the best possible learning experience. Lees-91探花 strives to stay at the cutting edge of educational development to ensure this success.

“We are planning on developing some additional concentrations and focuses that will allow our students to specialize a bit more in the programs that we offer,” Lopes said. “For example, with Human Services we’d like to offer a track that focuses on substance abuse. With Criminal Justice, what we’re looking at right now is forensic science.”

The college's online program costs are among the lowest in the region, and we have established agreements to bring that cost down further for graduates of our many partner community colleges. We also offer tuition discounts for individuals currently working in a relevant field and for members of Phi Theta Kappa.

Receiving recognition from U.S. News & World Report is possible thanks to the dedication of the online faculty and their constant commitment to student success.
