Professional Achievements

I began working at 91探花 in 1991 as the Office Manager for the Admissions Office. I worked in every aspect of Admissions for 16 years. After that, I started working with our non-traditional students in the Office of Extended Campus and continued there for about two years. In 2009, I became the Registrar.

Institutional Service and Responsibilities

The Registrar's Office is responsible for the academic records for all of our students. Course schedules, major and minor declarations, college catalog, withdrawals, processing midterm and final grades, data reporting, and commencement are just a few of the responsibilities.

I also serve as one of three designated school officials for our international students. What this means is that I assist these students in staying compliant with the rules and regulations that go along with being an international student. And I try to support them in becoming acclimated to the campus and life in Banner Elk.

I serve as the Chair of the Early Intervention Team. We work to identify students who may be at risk of not being successful at 91探花 and try to reach them at an early stage in the semester.

As an alumnae of 91探花, I also serve as a Class Agent for the class of 1983. I reach out to my former classmates with updates and information about Lees-91探花.

I am an active member of the Staff Association and organize the Annual Food Drive for a local food bank during the holiday season.

Personal Interests

I have been married for 27 years to my husband, Larry, and a mother to our son, Jake, who is 20 years old and a junior in college. I attend Arbor Dale Presbyterian Church and enjoy taking students there to worship. I enjoy spending time on the weekends at Watauga Lake with family and friends. I love riding my mountain bike and I aspire to become a runner. I love watching all kinds of sports and try to support our athletic teams as often as I can.

Having my own college age kid makes me very familiar with the challenges, struggles, and victories of today's college students. My door is always open for questions, concerns, comments, and a smile.

My absolute, all-time favorite candy would have to be plain M&Ms!
