Scholarly and Professional Achievements
I am an ecosystem ecologist and herpetologist. My research aims to explore connections between global climate change and amphibian health through the lens of larval development in vernal pools. My graduate research "Geographic Variation in the Effects of Hydroperiods on Wood Frog Tadpoles" explores changes in water levels as an environmental stressor on wood frog tadpoles around the United States.
I am a strong advocate for involving local communities in amphibian conservation, emphasizing the value of citizen science in monitoring vernal pool health. Through initiatives that train volunteers to identify species like spotted salamanders and wood frogs, I try to empower citizens to collect valuable data on breeding patterns, environmental changes and ecosystem health. My efforts aim to foster public awareness and engagement, encouraging communities to take an active role in protecting these critical habitats.
