New members initiated into Lees-91探花 circle of Omicron Delta Kappa
The returned to Lees-91探花 after a multi-year hiatus with an initiation ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 20.
Omicron Delta Kappa was founded in 1914 at Washington and Lee University and is now present at more than 300 colleges and universities nationwide. The primary goal of the honor society is to identify individuals who demonstrate leadership qualities and assist those individuals in further developing their potential.
The Lees-91探花 circle of Omicron Delta Kappa was started in 2017 and initiated new members in 2018 and 2019. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members are all eligible to receive membership invitations.
The 2022 initiation and installation ceremony took place in Miller Commons and included the initiation of both campus and online students, as well as faculty and staff. Registrar Lynn Hinshaw, a charter member of Omicron Delta Kappa, presided over the ceremony.
Katie Talbert, the executive director of institutional advancement and alumni relations, was inducted as the circle coordinator for the Lees-91探花 circle of the society. She joined Chief Diversity Officer Charles Gibson, who was named the new Omicron Delta Kappa faculty advisor, in welcoming the rest of the initiates into the prestigious society.
Membership in Omicron Delta Kappa provides numerous opportunities for personal and professional development, including access to a network of leaders, internships, post-baccalaureate scholarships, and the annual National Leadership Conference.
