Summer Theatre’s final show of the season, Legally Blonde The Musical, to premier July 28

July 17, 2017

Taking stage last, but certainly not least, Legally Blonde The Musical will cap off the Lees-91探花 Summer Theatre season starting July 28.

Based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical centers on Elle Woods, a peppy California college sorority queen who has it all until her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend dumps her to attend Harvard Law School.

Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm to get into Harvard Law, but she quickly realizes that she will have to work harder than ever to achieve her goals and prove herself to the world.

Lead actors and Lees-91探花 alumni, Nicole Estrella Wright and Richard Gebo, who play Elle and Emmett, respectively, first met one another during the show’s fall performing arts debut in 2012 on the Hayes Auditorium stage.

“Well, like all romantic endings, those two fell in love and are still together doing professional theatre [at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios] in Florida,” Director, Janet Barton Speer, said. “They will be returning to play the roles where they first fell in love–I can’t wait!”

Legally Blonde The Musical will perform July 28 and August 1-2 at 7 p.m. as well as July 29-30 and August 3-4 at 2 p.m. This production is rated PG-13.
