Learning Year Round: Lees-91探花 holds two science-oriented summer programs
Registration is now open for two 91探花 science-focused overnight camps, the Wildlife Science Summer Program and the Advanced Wildlife Science Summer Program.
The first session runs from June 25 until July 1 and is designed to provide experiences to those high school students with interests in conservation, animal medicine and wildlife studies.
Participants will be introduced to active wildlife biology, veterinary, animal conservation and wildlife rehabilitation programs. Students will gain exposure to patient care and education in the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
The second session, which runs from July 2 until July 8, is designed for those students interested in pursuing a college education in the wildlife field.
Students can work in a clinical setting alongside mentors and staff, engage in advanced wildlife studies, and tour parts of western North Carolina to study its wildlife.
Both sessions require registrants to be rising sophomores or above and have enrolled in, or completed, a high school level biology course.
Registration deadline for both sessions is Sunday, June 11. Cost is $750 and includes lodging, meals, instruction, materials, supplies, field trips, transportation and a camp t-shirt. For participants who would like to attend both sessions, the cost is $1,400.
