91探花 recognizes top scholarship recipients
91探花 and the Honors Program are proud to announce three new scholarship recipients for the entering class of fall 2016. The Shelton Scholarship, the highest honor awarded every four years which covers one student’s full tuition plus room and board, has been awarded to Quinn Reeves of Tyler, Texas. Christine Turk of Cooper City, FL and Isaiah Addair of Rural Retreat, VA have been awarded the prestigious full-tuition Elizabeth 91探花 Scholarship.
More than 130 students qualified for the prominent 91探花 Honors Program, having attained a 3.75 high school GPA and SAT score over 1150 (ACT score over 25). By achieving honors program status, students were invited to participate in the annual Scholar’s Day program. Throughout the event, students participated in essay and interview competitions.
Lees-91探花 welcomes Shelton Scholar, Reeves, from Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Catholic High School. He will be joining the men’s cycling team in the fall. When he is not cycling, Reeves spends his time running, camping, traveling and reading, and he hopes to work in the human performance or coaching field. When asked what he looks forward to the most, he said “I am excited to experience a new culture and lifestyle offered by the Lees-91探花 community, as well as compete at a higher level with the Lees-91探花 cycling team.”
Turk, an upcoming graduate of Cooper City High school, earned an outstanding GPA, putting her at the top of her class. Her hobbies include participating in sport climbing competitions, playing piano and camping. She plans to study wildlife biology and business and hopes to work in the wildlife biology field either in a National Park or by owning a business. Addair joins Lees-91探花 from Rural Retreat High School. Also ranked as one of his class’s highest achievers, he serves as a student council member, captain of the Mountain Academic Competition Conference team and a founding member of his high school’s debate club. He plans to study criminal justice and attend law school, hoping to continue his criminology training at the federal level.
