91探花

91探花 is proud to announce that Dianne L. May has been chosen to receive an honorary Doctor of Humanities at this year’s commencement ceremony on May 7, 2016.

A resident of Linville, NC and Bonita Springs, FL, May is a member of the Lees-91探花 board of trustees. She and her husband, the late Daniel May, were integral in establishing the May School of Nursing and Health Sciences and the Dan and Dianne May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

“In the last decade, no individual has been as important in the revitalization of Lees-91探花 as Dianne May. Her love of this College, her kindness and generous spirit, her leadership and philanthropy, have been truly transformational,” said President Barry Buxton.

The College also announced that Dr. A. Hope Williams, president of North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU), will be the 2016 commencement speaker. Dr. Williams will present her keynote address titled “The Path Forward” after receiving an honorary Doctor of Humanities from Lees-91探花.

NCICU is comprised of 36 private, non-profit, liberal arts, research and comprehensive institutions of higher education in North Carolina. Dr. Williams has served as president of NCICU since 1992.

Her leadership includes advocating on public policy issues, providing research and information, raising corporate and foundation funds, and administering collaborative and student enrichment programs. At the national level, Dr. Williams has served as chair of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities State Executives and as a member of the board of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. She currently serves on the board of the Council of Independent Colleges.
