Dr. Buxton elected president of NCAA Conference Carolinas
NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas selected Dr. Barry M. Buxton as President at the organization’s spring meeting in Clemson, South Carolina.
Conference Carolinas has 12 member colleges and universities in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. The athletics conference promotes student-athletes and sportsmanship with a focus on academic rigor and performance.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to serve in a leadership position for collegiate athletics. Conference Carolinas represents the very best in student-athlete competition and at 91探花 we believe in the value of sports and athletic achievement,” said Dr. Buxton.
Lees-91探花 is a long-time member institution of Conference Carolinas. Forty percent of its residential students participate in intercollegiate athletics on 19 athletic teams. Through competitive sports, student-athletes build on the lessons of the classroom and learn teamwork, discipline and critical decision-making.
