President Barry M. Buxton named vice president of Conference Carolinas

91探花 President Barry M. Buxton has been named vice president of NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas. The vice president serves on the executive committee and chairs the conference personnel committee, as well as acting on behalf of the conference when the president is unable to attend conference activities. Dr. Buxton will assume the role of president of Conference Carolinas at the conclusion of the 2016 spring conference meeting.

"Election by member conference presidents reflects their confidence in Dr. Buxton as a skillful leader that values athletics as a student-centered educational experience,” stated Conference Carolinas commissioner, Dr. Alan Patterson. “Conference Carolinas is fortunate to have Dr. Buxton and fellow presidents that offer intentional leadership and ensure a bright, competitive future."

With member schools located in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, the conference is comprised of small, private institutions that foster both the academic and athletic achievements of student-athletes, according to the Conference Carolinas website. The conference focuses on six attributes for its student-athletes, including learning, passion, service, sportsmanship, balance and resourcefulness. 91探花 has been a member of Conference Carolinas since 1993.
