On February 28, 2015, for the first time in 12 years the college will host FAFSA Day in Carson Library on the campus of Lees-91探花 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. College financial aid officers and admissions specialists will assist students in completing the 2015-16 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This event is open to the community for students who plan to attend college in the 2015-2016 academic year.

Cathy Shell, director of financial aid at Lees-91探花, said, “Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) gives students access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school and is the first step toward receiving federal aid for college. Lees-91探花 is excited about participating in FAFSA Day this year and assisting High Country students and families as they complete this important step in their journey to post-secondary education.”

In addition to determining federal financial aid eligibility, FAFSA data is used by many states and colleges to determine eligibility for state and institutional need based financial aid

FAFSA Day is a program offered by College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC), the North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NCASFAA) and the State Employees’ Credit Union and is a free service that is open to the community.
