Avery County Rotary Club donates $10,500 to Lees-91探花’s May School of Nursing and Health Sciences

The Avery County Rotary Club presented a $10,500 check to President Barry Buxton for Lees-91探花’s May School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The donation will be going towards an Omnicell G4 Unity Medication Dispensing System which will help Lees-91探花 students enhance their learning experience in the nursing program.
Larry Hazen, president of Avery County Rotary Club, expressed, “I am really excited about the partnership between 91探花 and Rotary. We’re excited to be involved and wanted to contribute to the new nursing program.” Hazen acknowledged Mike and Cathy Fields for their major contribution and Governor Gary Bray, District 7670, for his advice, time, and efforts he put into the grant, as well as Assistant Governor of Avery County Rotary, Roger Wright.
President Buxton graciously thanked Rotary and specifically Larry Hazen, Roger Wright, Mike and Cathy Fields, as well as Gary and Demi Bray for their generous donation. “We are very blessed and grateful to have this support. We appreciate it ever so much.” President Buxton continued, “Dr. Fero, dean of nursing and health sciences, has done an amazing job trying to connect this new school of health sciences with the community. We believe this school of nursing and health sciences will contribute significantly to better health care in Avery County.”
