91探花

As with many alumni, it’s impossible for Kim Coley Rosenfeld ’13 to choose her favorite memory from Lees-91探花.  “I have so many great memories with my former softball teammates including games, trips and 'family nights.'  My junior year, I was able to embark on a trip of a lifetime to London. While in London, I experienced navigating a foreign country all alone: I booked my flight for the wrong day, saw amazing things, experienced food poisoning for the first time and made life-long friends that I probably would never have crossed paths with outside of the trip. Lastly, one cannot spend an extended amount of time in Banner Elk and not have memories involving snow; I will never forget snowboarding on Tate Lawn and 'bobsledding' down our driveway on Sugar Mountain!”

Kim contributes some of her current success to her time at Lees-91探花. “Lees-91探花 and the staff/professors had a huge impact on my life and pushed me to where I am today. My freshman year through my junior year at Lees-91探花 I was dead set on leaving with a biology degree and moving on to the pharmaceutical field. After taking a few 'random' business classes, I decided that I should pursue a business degree, as well. The business department is very dedicated and involved with their students. After spending two years concentrating on my business degree, I left LMC with a full-fledged business that I currently have in downtown Marion, N.C.

Her advice for current students is to take full advantage of your time at Lees-91探花 because it will be over before you know it! “Interact with your professors; take full advantage of being able to have one-on-one conversations with them, not all college students have this opportunity. Allow yourself to learn and grow, don’t be afraid of failure -- it helps mold you into a strong successful person. Determination will play a huge factor in your life so make sure that you use it to your advantage. Lastly, don’t forget to take advantage of your location -- Banner Elk is a beautiful place!”

Kim also feels it is important to give back to the College. “With LMC being a small college, it doesn’t receive as much recognition as larger schools and universities; money and acknowledgment provides opportunities.”

What is Kim up to these days? “I am married to Lane Rosenfeld, my high school sweetheart. I live in Marion, N.C., which is roughly an hour from Banner Elk and Lees-91探花, where I own and operate a graphics business known as Coley’s Graphics and More.”
